Wipers are great tools for reducing waste, but, to get the most out of your wipers, it’s important to get the right kind of dispensing system for your facility’s needs. Let’s take a look at some of the most popular systems.
Wipers can be delivered in boxes that become their own built-in dispensers. The wipers are usually folded into the box so that they come out one at a time, and there are even racks or plates that can be mounted on a wall or the side of bench to open up space and allow for easy access. Dispenser boxes are an easy, effective way to manage wiper dispensing.
Wipers also come on jumbo rolls (about 24” in diameter) that fit onto stands, wall racks, or small carts and can be rolled around the plant access to assembly lines and workers that move around. With jumbo rolls, workers can get more or less product depending on the job they need to do.
This dispensing system uses a roll of wipers that dispense from the core. While it’s a largely effective system, the wipers sometimes form a rope, dispensing more than you bargained for.
An automatic dispensers give you a lot of flexibility: you can lock the dispenser to fully protect the wipers from getting dirty (or from walking away), and you can pre-set the length of the wiper dispensed for 8, 12, or 16 inches. Automatic systems reduce waste by only dispensing one wiper at a time, but they’re limited in the heaviness of the wiper they can dispense – it must be light enough to tear, meaning that many solvent-resistant wipers don’t work with this kind of dispensing system.
